During an earlier visit, the association handed around $200 to the village elders. The community courageously began construction independently, but without reinforced concrete framing. During the subsequent heavy rains, the structure collapsed. This painful moment led to a strict organisational standard: 'We build sustainably and with engineering excellence — or not at all.'

Designed with professional civil engineers from our volunteer network, Phase 1 features 6 classrooms and a staff office built on seismic- and rain-resistant concrete frames.
